PROCEDURAL STEPS TO SET MECHANICAL WHIPSTOCK AND MAKING WINDOW
First Mechanical Whipstock was set on 24/07/07 .its procedural steps are given below:
RIH lead mill and flex Mill along with 1x HWDP , 1 x NMDA , 1 x MWD tool
Test MWD at surface, apply 55 SPM = 200 GPM . MWD working good.
Draw straight line from lead mill bolt connection to MWD.
Draw a straight line from the bolt of lead mill side to upward direction to MWD tool. This will be the centre line of whipstock.
Measure the distance between whipstock centre line and MWD zero or centre line which is 12.6 cm.
Measure the circumference of pipe which is 38.6cm.
Now calculate the angle difference b/w MWD and whipstock by dividing 12.6 by 38.6 and multiplying by 360 which is 117.8 degree i.e 12.6/38.6 * 360 = 117.8o
Pick up mechanical whipstock using air winch and fork lift. During pick up do not let the bottom of the whip stock touch the v door.
RIH assembly with Whipstock.
Place T bar inside retrievable slot so that t bar rest on rotary table and whipstock stop moving down.
Make bolt connection with lead mill and Whipstock
Remove T bar and start RIH.
When whipstock touched the bridge plug at 12763’ ,observed compression, worked on MWD so that upside right angle = 90 degree.
Checked up and down ward weight of drill string which was 212k lbs up and 205 k lbs down ward.
Apply 10 k lbs weight on string to set the whipstock.
Then again apply 40 k lbs compression on string. At that compression pin was sheared and whipstock was set.
Apply 10 k lbs more to confirm the setting of whipstock.
Pull out 10 ft to confirm no overpull.
Move down to top of whipstock@ 12945’.
